The laboratory is a part of the Department of Stored Product Pest Management at Research Institute of Crop Production, the members of department are working on hazard storage pests (mites and insects) associated with stored-food; their diagnostics and detection including preparation of antibodies. The department is well equipped with mite breeding facilities and research equipment for biotests. The research of ecophysiological laboratory is focused on following main topics:
  1. the screening of the suppressive effect of insecticidal/acarcidal proteins on stored product pests as well as on their natural predator or parazitoids;
  2. the mite digestive enzyme of allergen importance including the screening of new potential allergens and ultrastructural localization.
